The Oregon Sustainable Community Digital Library provides a central online repository for the collection, accession, and dissemination of key urban planning documents on the Portland Metropolitan area.

Literature, planning reports, digital images, maps, RLIS (Regional Land Information System) geographical data, and more from Portland State University, Metro, TriMet, and other municipal and non-profit agencies are being collected and added to the database. The Oregon Historical Society contributed standards and specifications for the management and design of this project.

This project is funded by a Library Services and Technology grant, with Portland State University's Millar Library serving as the lead grant participant. The first-year goal is to transfer at least 200 documents/objects "born digital" to the Digital Library and to convert 5 linear feet of print material to electronic format.

Professor Carl Abbott, Portland State University, College of Urban and Public Affairs wrote the Framing Paper, which guides in the selection of material.
